This is Bert's Fort. It's a playhouse that was designed and built by her parents and our friends, Tim and Caitlin. We're selling the plans here as a joint venture. Hopefully these proceeds will someday put Bert through trade school. I've got my fingers crossed for HVAC or welding.

These printable PDF plans for the DIY kids playhouse have been optimized to be efficient with materials and cost, keeping the project approachable and easy to complete. The step-by-step guide is written for the novice and explains several ways of completing the build, depending on your level of experience and access to tools, and includes links to all the hardware, materials, and windows.

SIZE: 32 sq ft. Footprint measures 4x8 ft. Doorway is 5’ 3” tall. Total height is 7.5 ft.

COST: The approximate cost of materials, excluding optional windows, is about $900 USD. Material choices and local pricing will vary the total build cost.

WHAT’S INCLUDED: Instantly available digital download includes printable PDF 35 page step-by-step instructions, a materials list, a cut list, a digital album of 70 photos and illustrations of the build process, and a bonus 3D Sketchup model.

–Sketchup is a program that allows you to construct in 3D, examine all the construction details, modify the design, hide layers, take measurements, and explore the build. If you intend to modify these plans it’s a fantastic tool to make those changes and to familiarize yourself with the construction process digitally before doing it for real. Sketchup is available as an always-free web app, so there is no added cost.

–Please feel free to download the plans to price materials, or shop them around to builders to explore options or modifications. If you ultimately find that you can’t use them for your project I’m happy to get you a refund.
