COMMUNITY
We deeply appreciate a communal effort. Many friends have enthusiastically contributed their skills and helping hands to our projects, and we’ve learned a ton assisting others. There’s joy in seeing so many of our build plans brought to life and hearing from folks who have created similar spaces with their own community.
Built something from our plans? Did something inspired? We’d love to hear about it.
Build more than just a project
The newsletter explores what it means to create, not just in the physical sense, but in building capability, confidence, and community. From practical tool tips to deeper reflections on personal growth and connection, you'll find habits and ethos that ripple out past the obvious themes of craft and construction.
Jeff and Molly
With the help of a lot of friends we've built cabins and quite a few elevated spaces up in the trees in our corner of the California redwoods. We've hosted friends, workshops, and getaways and heavily documented that journey. All that documentation turned out to be fortunate, as the property suffered a devastating wildfire in 2020. Despite the reset, it continues on as a canvas for new projects and our previous builds live on through the many reproductions which customers have constructed around the world–a pretty remarkable and unexpected turn of events.
Jeff does a bit of architectural design and construction, occasionally works high up in the trees, and writes about tools, projects, and community building. He also tinkers with furniture making in his shop. And as he's full-time focused on all the above, he's generally pretty eager to answer your questions.
Holler if you've got questions or want some assistance with your project.
